New SNG affordable homes set to open in Wiltshire

People looking for an affordable home in west Wiltshire are set to benefit from the opening of 12 new affordable homes in the village of Lower Stanton St Quintin near Chippenham.

The new range of two, three and four-bedroom semi-detached homes, which will be available from April, were created by Autograph Homes for housing association SNG (Sovereign Network Group) and supported by a grant from the government’s affordable properties housing and regeneration agency, Homes England. The homes have a mix of tenures with seven for affordable rent and five for shared ownership.

Each home is built to a standard of high energy efficiency and are fitted with air source heat pumps as standard. The homes were built through the redevelopment of brownfield land formerly occupied by a single property.

Raphael Cohen, Head of Project Management West at SNG said: “Housing demand remains very high in Wiltshire and this includes the villages of the county. We are delighted to be able to create affordable homes in the village so local people can build secure futures, confident in the support that comes with an SNG home.”

John Kearney, Head of Strategic Partnerships at Homes England said: “We are pleased to have been able to support SNG with government grant funding through the Affordable Homes Programme. The Lower Stanton St Quintin development will deliver much needed, high-quality, affordable housing in Wiltshire, that meets local needs and aspirations.”
