Customer expectations & responsibilities

Help us keep key worker accommodation safe, respectful, and comfortable for everyone

General courtesy

  • Please treat fellow residents and our accommodation team with courtesy and respect.
  • If you have a disagreement with another resident, try to resolve it calmly together. If that’s not possible, our team is here to help.
  • Report any damage or maintenance issues promptly so we can keep everything in good condition.
  • Out-of-hours calls should be for emergencies only, such as a total loss of heating/hot water or a water/gas leak.

Security

  • Help keep everyone safe by ensuring doors and windows are closed securely when you leave.
  • Please don’t let anyone tailgate through secure doors - it protects all residents.

Shared spaces

  • Keep your personal belongings in your room and avoid leaving items in hallways, as this can create a fire hazard, any items found blocking fire escape routes, will be removed
  • When using shared kitchens, bathrooms, and communal areas, please tidy up after yourself so everyone can enjoy a clean space.

Noise awareness

  • Keep noise levels reasonable - Noise can travel easily, so please keep music, TV, and gaming volumes low, especially during quiet hours.
  • All residents have a right to sleep in peace, be aware of noise made during the day as others may be sleeping.
  • Be mindful of phone or video calls and keep them at a reasonable volume.
  • Close doors gently to avoid disturbing others.

Visitors

Visitors are welcome, but please make sure they follow these guidelines:

  • Overnight guests should be booked through the accommodation office for everyone’s safety.
  • Subletting, sofa surfing, or room sharing isn’t allowed.

Health and safety

  • Fire safety is vital - please don’t interfere with fire equipment and never wedge fire doors open.
  • Naked flames (candles, incense, oil burners) aren’t allowed for safety reasons.
  •  Please comply with fire regulations and ensure fire doors are never wedged open
  • Use official chargers that meet UK safety standards, avoid overloading sockets, and don’t leave chargers unattended overnight.
  • Electrical items should have a valid PAT (Portable Appliance Testing) sticker. Items without one will be removed for safety.
  • Keep heaters clear of items, especially anything wet.
  • Possessing, using, selling or being under the influence of illegal drugs and/or use of medication for purposes other than those for which they have been prescribed is forbidden and will be reported to the Police.
  • Pets aren’t allowed in the accommodation.

Smoking

  • Smoking (including e-cigarettes and shisha) isn’t allowed inside the accommodation.
  • If smoking outside, please be considerate of open windows where smoke may drift indoors.
