Supporting LGBTQ+ customers at SNG

At SNG, we are committed to creating safe, welcoming communities where everyone can feel comfortable being themselves. We value diversity and inclusion, and we recognise the importance of supporting LGBTQ+ customers to feel respected, represented, and connected.

We know that home is more than just a place to live - it’s where you should feel secure, understood, and able to belong. Our Customer Engagement Team works closely with customers and partners to ensure LGBTQ+ voices are heard and reflected in the services we provide.

Our commitment: House Proud Scheme

SNG is proud to be part of the House Proud Scheme, a national framework helping social housing providers to improve services for LGBTQ+ residents.

Through this, we are:

  • Listening to LGBTQ+ customers to shape better services
  • Training our staff to understand and respond to different needs
  • Reviewing policies and communications to ensure they are inclusive
  • Working with sector partners to share learning and good practice

This helps us continue to improve and ensure that all customers feel safe, respected, and valued across all aspects of our services.

To find out more about our support, you can read about it here.

Updating your name or personal details

We understand how important it is that we address you correctly and respectfully. If you have changed your legal name, you can update your details with us by:

  • Logging into your online account and updating your personal details, or
  • Contacting our Customer Services Team, who can support you through the process

You may be asked to provide documentation (such as a deed poll or legal certificate) where needed, but our team will guide you sensitively and confidentially through this.

You can also let us know your preferred name or pronouns, so we can communicate with you in a way that feels right.
