International Youth Day: helping young people make their voices heard
This International Youth Day, we're celebrating the power of young voices and the difference they can make in shaping communities, services and futures.
At SNG, we're committed to creating opportunities for young people to lead change, build confidence and improve wellbeing. Through our #iwill Wellbeing Champions Programme, we're investing more than £1.5 million in youth social action and wellbeing initiatives, supporting young people aged 10 to 20 to take action on issues that matter to them.
The programme funds grassroots organisations and community projects that help young people champion mental health and wellbeing, develop new skills and make a positive impact where they live. We're also bringing young people together through our Wellbeing & Social Action Festivals, celebrating volunteering, community connection and youth-led action.
An opportunity for young SNG residents
As part of our commitment to amplifying young voices, we're inviting SNG residents aged 20 to 30 to take part in a special roundtable discussion with young residents from G15 housing associations.
Taking place on 5 November from 6pm to 7.30pm at Coin Street, near Waterloo Station in London, the event will give young people the chance to share their views on housing, discuss the issues that matter most to them and help shape how housing associations engage with younger generations.
The discussion will also explore how more young people can be represented on resident panels, scrutiny groups and boards, helping to ensure their voices are heard where decisions are made.
What's included?
All participants will receive:
- A £50 voucher
- Full reimbursement of travel expenses
- Pizza and refreshments after the event
- The chance to meet and connect with other young residents from across the housing sectorIf you're aged 20 to 30 and live in an SNG home, we'd love to hear from you.
