Win prizes for your gardens and green spaces
The In Bloom gardening competition is back for 2025 and now open for applications! After lots of fantastic entries in last year's customer gardening competition, we’re looking to celebrate and award prizes for more vibrant and creative green spaces. Applications close on Thursday 31 July 2025 and the competition is open to all SNG customers, including people who entered last year.
This competition is a chance for you to show us your gardening skills and showcase the positive impact that gardening can have on people, wellbeing communities and the environment. There are four categories, and a £200, £100 and £50 Amazon voucher is up for grabs for the first, second and third place winners in each category! The judging panel deciding who the winners are will include a customer, our Group CEO Mark Washer, and members of our Community Foundation Leadership team.
After winning in the Sustainable Garden category last year, Berkshire-based SNG customer Michelle Plummer said: “I was grateful to win the competition, it was a lovely surprise and what a great idea from SNG. I am very proud of the garden. It has developed over many years, and I always have ideas to further enhance it. This award is such a nice way for it to be recognised, thank you.” This year’s In Bloom competition could be your chance to be awarded for your impressive gardening efforts, enter now for your chance to win up to £200 in vouchers!
Categories
Each customer can make one application each, and applications can be made for one of the four categories listed below. If you’re entering the competition as a group, you don’t need to be a formally constituted group, we just need one person from the group to lead on the application.
This award celebrates vibrant and colourful private green spaces managed by an individual / household. Judges will consider how well you have added beauty and variety to the garden, while showcasing some great gardening skills.
This award is for individuals or groups who have come together to create and maintain a community or shared garden / green space. Judges will consider how well you’ve made the space visually appealing and how the gardening work has benefitted the community, contributed to the improvement of a communal area, and reducing waste and litter.
This award is for individuals who have innovatively utilised smaller or indoor spaces to create vibrant green spaces. This category will celebrate blossoming plants in containers, hanging baskets, houseplants, or and things that are a little different which maximise space. Judges will consider how creatively you’ve made use of your space with greenery.
