Tackling antisocial behaviour at Tristram House, Winchester
The issue
Residents at Knights Quarter raised concerns about persistent antisocial behaviour that was having a serious impact on their sense of safety and wellbeing at Tristram House. Issues included ongoing noise, disorder and risks to the wider community, with some residents feeling distressed and unsafe in their own homes.
What we did
We took a firm, coordinated approach to address the antisocial behaviour and protect residents. Over a number of months, our teams worked closely with key partners including the police, local council and health and social care services.
By working together, we were able to:
- Respond quickly to reports of serious antisocial behaviour and safety risks
- Put safeguarding measures in place for vulnerable people
- Use appropriate legal action where behaviour continued or escalated
- Support other affected households in the building
This sustained partnership working led to the successful resolution of a long‑running case and the removal of the source of ongoing antisocial behaviour.
The impact
- Antisocial behaviour was brought to an end
- Residents’ safety and peace of mind were restored
- Risks to the wider community were reduced
- Strong partnership working helped deliver a long‑term solution
This case demonstrates our commitment to working with residents and partner agencies to tackle serious antisocial behaviour and keep communities safe.
