SNG exchanges contracts with Barratt Redrow to deliver 42 affordable homes near Basingstoke

We've exchanged contracts with Barratt Redrow Southern Counties to deliver 42 affordable homes in Bramley, north of Basingstoke. The development at  Willow Park will deliver a mix of high‑quality houses and apartments and forms part of a Section 106 deal.

Of the 42 homes total, 29 will be for Affordable Rent, available to people from Basingstoke and Deane Council’s housing register, with the remaining 13 for Shared Ownership, offering options for local people to get on the property ladder.

All homes will meet the Nationally Described Space Standard (NDSS) which ensures good living space along with SNG’s sector leading Homes and Place Standard. They will also benefit from strong sustainability and quality specifications with all properties benefiting from solar panels, air source heat pumps to houses, electric panel heaters and heat pumps for the apartments along with EV chargers for electric cars.

Jenny Grote, SNG’s Land and New Business Director – South, commented: “We’re delighted to be partnering with Barratt Redrow on this important development, which will bring high‑quality, modern and genuinely affordable homes for people in Basingstoke and Deane. This project reflects our shared commitment to creating sustainable neighbourhoods, and these new homes will incorporate excellent energy‑efficient features which will ensure warm, comfortable, and greener living for generations to come.”

James Pugh, Development Director at Barratt Redrow Southern Counties, commented: “It is fantastic to be working with SNG for the delivery of 42 Shared Ownership and Affordable Rent Homes at our Willow Park development. We are committed to working with partners to provide affordable homeownership options at our developments, to ensure all types of buyers have the opportunity for a new home. The development will also include private and first homes delivered by Barratt Redrow Southern Counties.

Construction is already underway at Willow Park, which will see 140 energy efficient homes delivered in Bramley, Hampshire with the first occupations expected later this year.”
