Invitation to apply for first low carbon role as SNG launches apprenticeship drive
SNG (Sovereign Network Group) is proud to relaunch its apprenticeship programme which will develop local talent and support its ongoing programme of housing maintenance.
As part of the latest apprenticeship drive, the association is offering several roles and opportunities in plumbing and domestic heating, electrical work and carpentry across its localities – with the very first low carbon heating engineer apprentice vacancy also being announced by SNG.
This new role reflects the association’s commitment to make all its homes Net Zero by 2050 with expenditure on its portfolio of new and existing homes forecast to reach £9 billion over the next decade. By championing the next generation of industry talent, SNG is actively driving the transition to sustainable heating solutions by installing and retrofitting homes with technologies which include air source heat pumps to provide cleaner sources of heating.
The new low carbon heating apprenticeship and additional vacancies come at a time when the unemployment rate in the UK has hit a near four-year high, and a shortage of tradespeople remains up and down the country.
Those who are successful with their application will benefit from an apprenticeship programme which provides on-the-job training, a range of practical experience, plus an industry-recognised qualification, all while earning a wage.

SNG will be engaging with local providers of apprenticeships, including colleges and other educational establishments over the coming months to help them fulfil and deliver these roles.
