SNG and Vistry to build 179 new homes in South Gloucestershire
Planning approval has been secured for a new residential development in Thornbury, South Gloucestershire, which will see SNG and Vistry deliver 179 high-quality homes through a joint venture.
Designed to meet a broad range of housing needs, the site will offer a diverse mix of tenures. This includes 71 homes for social rent which will be available for people on South Gloucestershire’s housing register, 63 for Shared Ownership and 45 for private sale which will be delivered under Vistry’s Bovis Homes brand.
Construction is expected to begin in March 2026, with the development set to contribute significantly to local housing supply and community infrastructure. The site builds on SNG and Vistry Bristol’s growing partnership across the South West – with homes already at sites in Bristol, Gloucester and Wiltshire.
Charlie Stevens, SNG’s Land and New Business Director – West, commented: “It’s great to see planning approved for this fantastic development and to be working with Vistry to deliver good affordable homes in South Gloucestershire. SNG is applying our sector leading Homes and Place Standard to our homes which will ensure they are comfortable, spacious and energy-efficient for customers moving in.”
Susan Scholfield, Regional Managing Director of Vistry Bristol, said: “We’re delighted to have secured planning for this exciting new scheme in Thornbury. This project is a fantastic example of what can be achieved by working in partnerships - with Sovereign Network Group we’re delivering a wide mix of housing, giving local people genuine opportunities to own or rent or custom build a quality new home in a vibrant, inclusive community.”
