SNG, Hill and partners pose for ribbon cutting

SNG completes 56 affordable homes in Stevenage

We've taken handover of 56 high-quality affordable homes at Nexus on Lytton Way in Stevenage, Hertfordshire from award-winning housebuilder The Hill Group.

The handover was marked with a ceremony held yesterday attended by representatives of SNG and The Hill Group colleagues including Mark Greenwood, Deputy Regional Director at Hill, alongside other representatives from the partners and stakeholders.

The homes are part of a wider regeneration of a former office site which will provide 592 mixed tenure apartments over seven buildings. The homes are part of a wider regeneration of a former office site which will provide 592 mixed tenure apartments over seven buildings. Funding for SNG’s allocation was partly secured through Homes England’s Affordable Homes Programme 2021-26. All of the one and two-bedroom apartments will be available to people on Stevenage Borough Council’s housing register.

The SNG managed properties are all located in a nine-story building designed by architects BPTW and are all designed in line with SNG’s sector leading Home and Place Standard. This ensures they will be of the very highest quality and a great place to live. Homes will all have either a balcony or terrace, and residents will have access to communal green spaces and a children’s play area. Following handover new residents will be moving in over the spring.

Matt Bird, SNG Regional Managing Director (London and East), commented: “We’re delighted to be taking handover of these fantastic apartments at Nexus in Stevenage. This scheme couldn’t be better placed, right on the doorstep of great transport links, Stevenage town centre and a host of local amenities. It means the new residents will not only benefit from high‑quality, affordable housing but also from being part of a thriving, well‑connected community. It’s exciting to see this scheme coming to life, and we’re proud to be delivering good homes for people that need them.”

Mark Greenwood, Deputy Regional Director at The Hill Group comments: “We’re proud to have partnered with SNG to deliver these much-needed affordable homes as part of the wider regeneration at Nexus. Developments like this demonstrate how collaboration can transform underused sites into vibrant new neighbourhoods, providing high-quality affordable homes that are well connected to local amenities and transport. At Hill, we’re committed to creating places where people can thrive, and we look forward to residents moving into their new homes over the spring.”
