SNG completes 69 affordable homes in Brentford
Residents are moving into 69 new affordable homes in Brentford, following SNG taking handover of much‑needed housing in the London Borough of Hounslow.
Located on London Road and opposite Syon Park, the brownfield site of a former Royal Mail sorting depot has since been transformed into high quality apartments spread across two buildings. The development is 100% affordable with 32 homes for London Affordable Rent, available for people on Hounslow Council’s housing register, 27 for Shared Ownership (marketed as the Post House) and 10 apartments for London Living Rent (rent to buy), a scheme which helps customers save for a deposit to buy their own home.
The scheme has been built by Howarth Contractors and delivered in partnership with the Greater London Authority’s Homes for Londoners: Affordable Homes Programme 2016-2023. All the completed homes are energy efficient benefiting from a mechanical ventilation with heat recovery (MVHR) system. New residents will also benefit from air source heat pumps, solar panels, green landscaping, and a rooftop amenity space. Ten per cent of the homes are wheelchair accessible with the remainder capable of being adapted for wheelchair use.
As well as new homes, the development has provided new office space facing London Road which will support local employment opportunities in a thriving community.
Matt Bird, SNG’s Regional Managing Director - London and East, commented: “It’s fantastic to take handover of these high quality apartments in the London Borough of Hounslow. With high demand for housing options within the borough, we’re proud to be delivering a range of homes and tenures in this development.”
