New SNG fund for community diversity and inclusion activities

We're launching a new fund providing microgrants supporting equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) activities in communities across London and Southern England.

Our ConnectED Communities Fund launched on Monday 12 January and will award money to community groups in areas where the housing association operates. Grants of up to £2000 will be available for each successful organisation that demonstrates they are taking action by driving projects which champion fairness and equality, celebrate diversity, and create places where everyone feels they truly belong.

Projects must be taking place in a community where SNG manages homes and be actively promoted to our customers. The housing association is particularly interested in projects and initiatives designed to support activities which challenge inequality, advance equality and celebrate diversity.

Priority will be given to applications from smaller grassroot organisations (total income under £250,000) which specialise in delivering services for ethnic minorities, LGBTQ+ communities, religious groups, people with disabilities, women’s or men’s groups and those led by or incorporating lived experience.

Stevie Chadwick, SNG’s Community Investment and Partnerships Manager, commented: ”At SNG, building homes goes hand in hand with supporting inclusive, connected communities. By investing in grassroots groups, we are supporting local action to tackle inequality, celebrate diversity and create places where people from all walks of life can thrive.”

Applications will close on Friday 23 February. Successful applicants will be informed by Tuesday 31 March.
