SNG recruits two Resident Board Members
Two SNG customers have been recruited to our Board as Resident Board Members. Ruth Picknett-Powell and Theresa Lisk have a wide range of experience and will be able to provide a customer perspective at Board level.
Wiltshire based Ruth works for the Civil Service as a Project Delivery Manager, having spent most of her career focused on healthcare provision in the NHS. She’s been a shared owner with SNG and predecessor organisations since 2012. She became an engaged resident in 2021 becoming Chair of Sovereign’s Resident and Board Partnership. Ruth was then on SNG’s Customer Influence panel.
Ruth said: “Having developed my scrutiny skills on the engagement panels and through my employment, I hope to continue supporting SNG’s ambition to be a truly customer-focused organisation and enable decision making that in the long-term will continue transform homes that the organisation provides to residents.”
London based Theresa is a dedicated community development professional with over 10 years of experience both internationally and domestically. She has been an SNG customer for 15 years she had previously served on the London Resident Panel for our predecessor organisation, Network Homes.
She says: “I am very excited to be appointed Resident Board Member as I recognise the opportunity it provides to strengthen how SNG understands and responds to the customer perspective.
“As someone who is deeply committed to community and amplifying voices that are often overlooked, I believe it’s vital that residents not only have a seat at the table but are genuinely listened to and reflected in decisions that affect them. I’ve seen first hand how including diverse voices can lead to better outcomes and I hope to contribute insights that will help SNG continue delivering a service that empowers residents and strengthens communities. “
“Representation matters, and I hope my addition to the Board further strengthens diversity and inclusion, ensuring decisions reflect the wide range of voices and experiences across SNG’s localities.”
