STAIRs scheme makes housing information easier to access
The Social Tenant Access to Information Requirements (STAIRs) scheme is a new government initiative designed to make social housing providers more open and transparent. It gives customers easier access to information about how their home and services are managed and helps them better understand how decisions are made.
As part of the scheme, we launched a new STAIRs page on 1 October 2026, bringing together key information about the homes we manage and our services in one place.
Customers can now more easily find information about how we make decisions, manage repairs and safety, spend money, and measure our performance. While much of this information was already available, we've brought it together to make it simpler to access and navigate.
The STAIRs scheme is being introduced in two stages. The first stage focuses on publishing information about how homes and services are managed. The second stage, from April 2027, will give social housing customers a legal right to request certain information from their landlord.
We're currently developing how customers will be able to make STAIRs information requests and will share more details closer to April 2027.
Our aim is to make information about our services as open, clear and easy to understand as possible, helping customers find the information they need and hold us to account for the services we provide.
