SNG completes transformation of West Berkshire street with 10 affordable homes
We've taken handover of 10 homes on a transformed street in Chapel Row, West Berkshire, a rural location where affordable housing opportunities are rare. Outdated ‘Swedish House’ timber properties in Paradise Way have given way to modern two and three bed homes with residents ready to move in.
The old houses on the site needed substantial refurbishment and repairs to bring them up to acceptable modern standards. It was decided to replace them with brand new homes, and the result is five new houses for Social Rent, available for people from the local housing register, and five homes for Shared Ownership offering affordable options for people to join the housing ladder.
Satwinder Kukadia, SNG’s Development Delivery Director – South, commented: “We’re delighted to see the transformation at Chapel Row completed, providing high quality modern homes for customers and families in a rural community. This development reflects our ongoing commitment to delivering good, affordable homes in thriving communities across West Berkshire.”‑quality modern homes for customers and families in a rural community.
